Evaluation on different hyperten sion management model

  • Objective To compare the comm unity-based self-m anagement model and category management model for the treahnent and effective management of hypertension patients. Methods A ccording to community-based randomized controlled trial designation, 413 voluntary participants with hypertention were randomly divided into self-management group (the experinental group) and three category management group(the control group). After six months, the change of blood pressure and blood pressure control rates of the two groups were compared. Results The experimental group showed a dereased ratio of severe hypertention patients(from 29.320 to 17.31%),better than that of the control group (from 31.71% to 23.42%,P<0.05).The blood pressure control rate of the experin ental group increased from 23.60% to 57.20%,better than that of the control group (from 26.80% to 36.60%,P<0.01).Conclusion The community-based hypertension self-management model is more effective in the in provement of blood pressure control than the category management model
