Prevalence of mites in public places of Shaoguan city, Guagndong province

Objective To obtain the basic status of mites in public places in Shaoguan city.Methods Random sampling method was adopted to detectmite with transparent plastics tape method in different public places such as hotel,mansion,market and hospital.Results Mite was found in the public places in winter and summer.The amount of mites in summer was higher than that of in winter.Mite detection rate was 30.4% in summer and 7.1% in winter.There was a significant difference in the detection rate between summer and winter(χ²=8.440,P<0.05).Conclusion The prevalence of mite in public palces is serious in southern cities of China and the main reason for the prevalence may be due to high humidity and temperature.
