Community management of patients with hypertension and diabetes in Beijing

ObjectiveTo find out management status of patients with hypertension and diabetes in Beijing's urban areas for the management of chronic diseases in community.MethodsWe used the combination of multi-stage random sampling and systematic random sampling method to draw 1 511 patients from 16 community health service institutions.Management status of patients with hypertension and diabetes and its risk factors among the patients were analyzed.ResultsAmong the patients,there were 776 with hypertension(51.4%)and 315 with diabetes(20.8%).The control rate for hypertention patients was 42.6% and 35.9% for diabetes,respectively.The major influence factor for hypertension and diabetes control rate among the patients was taking medicine regularly.ConclusionManagement status of patients receiving community health service is satisfactory.Community health services pay an important role in the management of chronic disease.
