Satisfaction to preferential policies of TB control among tuberculosis patients in floating population

  • Objective To unde rstand the satisfaction status to the prefe rential policies of tubercu losis control and its in fluencing factors among tuberculosis(TB)patients infloating population in Shandong province.Methods With stratified cluster sampling method,314 pulmonary tube rculosis patients in floating population were randomly selected from wtelve districts of Shandong province and investigated with a self made questionnaire from July to September 2008.The data was analyzed with SPSS160.Results Of all TB patients 80% were satisfied with the preferential policies related to TB control.While asmall number of patients regarded that the free medical programs were fewer than they expected and the price of auxillary drugs was high.They expected to have more free medical programs and auxillary drug swith low price.Logistic regression analysis indicated that without debt(odds ratioOR=5.380),medical costs in 2007 less than 1 000 RMB yuan (OR=5.291),lower TB treatment costin 2007(OR>1),standard care(OR=5.812)and less worried about TB(OR>1) were protective factors of satisfaction to preferential policies of TB control.The patients in midiumincome househ olds were more satisfied than those with high income(OR=0.257).Conclusion Combined with the willingness of TB patients,more preferential policies which are practical and logical should be explored.More government financing and the increase of medical expensesre imbursement for TB patients in floating population are necessary.
