Genetic characteristics and risk factors of essential hypertension among Chinese Korean in Yanbian area

Objective To explore the genetic characte ristics and risk factors of essential hypertension among Chinese Korean in Yanbian area.Methods Totally 270 essential hypertension(EH) patients of Yanbian Chinese Korean were selected as case group and 420 health individuals as control group.The information on general condition, living style, disease history, and familial history were collected with a fcae to face interviewamong the subjects.The height, weight, waist circum ference, hipcircum ference, blood pressure, body fatpercentage, total cholesterol(TC), triglyce ride(TG), lowdensity lipoprote in chole sterol(LDLC), high density lipoprote in cholesterol(HDLC), fasting plasma glucose(FPG), plasma insulin, and adiponectin of the subjects were measured.All data were analyzed with SPSS17.0 software.Multiple factor log istic regression and χ² test were used for analysis.Results The prevalence rate of EH among first degree relatives(30.44%) in EH was higher than that of in the control group(15.13%, P < 0.05).The heredity of EH among Chinese Korean in Yanbian was 57%.The seperation ratio of EH(0.16) showed a poly genicinheritance in heredity mode.EH family history, body mass index(BMI), body fatrate, alcohol drinking, salt in take, and the level of plasm a adiponectin were a ssociated with EH by multiple factor logistic reg ression analysis.Conclusion The prevalence of EH shows an obviousl hereditary tendency and the character of poygentic disease among Yanbian Chinses Korean.EH family history, obesity, a lochol drinking, higher in take of salt, and lower plasm a adiponectin are important risk factors of EH for Chinese Korean in Yanbian area.
