Intervention efficacy of memory training prescription for dysmnesia among older people

  • Objective To evaluate the effect of memory training prescription for dysmnesia among older people 6 months a fter the intervention.Methods The test of River mead Behavioural Memory Test Second Edition(RBMT) was carried out among the older people aged 60 years or above in a community.Then 100 people with memory impairment scores less than 22 were chosen randomly and divided into the intervention group and control group(50 in each group).The intervention group was treated with memorytraining prescription and the control group was not treated.The evaluation was conducted 3 months after the treatment.Results After the treatment, the standard score increased from 17.10±2.38 to 21.63±1.45, and subtest scores of story(mimediate), route(immediate), messages(immediate and delayed), orien tation,date, apoinmtent, story(delayed), secondnames, and belongings were raised(P < 0.05 or P < 0.01).After the intervention,Rivermead score of experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group.Conclusion The individual memory training prescription improves the memory of the older with memory impairment and coulde applied in the commurity.
