Relationship between suicidal ideation and maternal education pattern among high school students

Objective To explore the relationship between maternal education pattern and suicidal ideation among high school students.Methods Totally 847 high school students were investigated with a self-designed questionnaire and Egna Minnen Betrtaffande Uppfostranl(EMBU).Results The incidence rate of suicidal ideation among the students was 10.67%.The incidence in the girls was higher than that in the boys(χ²=9.58,P=0.002).The incidence of suicidal ideation of the students with self-injury behavior was higher than that of without self in jury behavior(χ²=39.12,P=0.000).The high school students with suicidal ideation experienced more over protection and rejection and overlook.Rejection and overollk of the mother(odds ratio=1.109) was a risk factor of suicidal ideation.Conclusion Incorrect maternal education pattern is a risk factor of suicide ideation for high school students.
