Oxidative stress of salt-sensitive hypertension induced by sensory denervation

  • Objective To explore oxidative stress of salt-sensitive hypertension induced by sensory denervation. Methods Male Wistar rats were given 50 mg/kg capsaic in subcutaneously on the 1st and 2nd day of life. The control rats were treated with vehicle. After weanling period, the rats in treated and control groups were subdivided into 2 groups, respectively, and fed different saltdiets for 4 weeks(control, high sodium diet, capsaicin, and capsaicin plus high sodium diet). The model of salt sensitive hyper tension induced by sensory denervation was established. The plasm a content of malondialdehyde (MDA) and nitrogen monoxide(NO),the plasm a activity of super oxide dismutase(SOD) and nitric oxide synthase(NOS) were tested. Results The tail-cuff systolic blood pressure (mmHg) of capsaic in plus high sodium group increased significantly (151.43±4.20).The content of MDA were significantly higher in capsaicin plus high sodium group(2.14±0.51 nmol/L) than that of the control group, capsaicin group and high sodium group(P < 0.05 for all). The plasm a activity of SOD (185.04±3.62 U/m l) and NOS(16.99±2.98 U/ml),and the plasm a content of NO (49.12±3.86 mol/L) were all significanatly lower in capsaicin plus high sodium group than that of the control group and high sodium group (P < 0.01).The indexes also decreased in capsaic in plus high sodium group than in high sodium group(P < 0.05).Conclusion There is oxidative stress in the rats with salt-sensitive hypertension induced by sensory denervation.
