Sub-health status among college students in Hefei city

  • Objective To explore the prevalence and influencing factors of sub-health among college students.Methods Totally 1 676 college students were investigated with a questionnaire survey and SPSS 11.0 was used to do statistical analysis.Results The prevalence of sub-health among the students was 27.87% (436/1 564) and the common symptoms of sub-health were fatigue (40.00%),difficulty in recall (29.10%),dry eyes (26.40%),easy to sweat (26.40%),and difficulty of concentrateion (25.90%).The distribution of the symptoms was not the same between male and female students.The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that 16 factors influenced the sub-health status among the students,induding know ledge about sub-health (odds ratioOR=0.674,P=0.016),the number of adverse events encountered in the previous year (OR=1.219,P=0.005),regular diet (OR=1.426,P< 0.001),time spent online (OR=1.210,P=0.008),worry about the future(OR=1.308,P=0.002),the extent of concerning to student of the counselors (OR=0.851,P=0.037).Conclusion The emphasis should be put on sub-health status among college students and it is necessary to carry out specific prevention.
