Epidemiological analysis of STDs in Futian district of Shenzhen city, 2008-2012

Objective To investigate epidemiological characteristics and prevalent trend of sexually transmitted diseases(STDs) in Futian district of Shenzhen city,and to provide scientific basis for instituting and adjusting the strategy of STDs control.Methods The STDs and population data of Futian district from 2008 to 2012 were collected and analyzed.Results The STDs incidence was from 370.45/100 000 to 492.08/100 000.The incidence of male was higher than that of the female.The highest incidence of STDs was observed among the young adults aged 20-39 years.Conclusion The STDs epidemic in Futian district showed a slow downward trend,but it was still at a high level.
