Insecticide resistance in Blattella germanica found in areas of Shengli oil field

  • ObjectiveTo study the status of insecticide resistance in Blattella germanica found in Shengli oil field and to provide evidences for effective control of the insects.MethodsThe resistance to common chemical insecticides in Blattella germanica found in different areas of Shengli oil field was determined with residual film method and the activities of glutathione S-transferase(GSTs),acetylcholin esterase(AChE),and superoxide dismutase(SOD) in the Blattella germanica were also detected with enzyme reagent kits.ResultsFor the Blattella germanica(field strain) trapped in 4 areas of Shengli oil field, the resistance to deltamethrin was the highest, with the resistance ratios of 14.21-25.76,followed by that to cypermethrin, acephate, and propoxur, with the resistance ratios of 7.81-23.72,5.97-7.08,and less than 2.The relative activities of GSTs(107%-143%) and AChE(197%-312%) in the Blattella germanica were all higher than those of the sensitive strain, but the relative activities of SOD(102%-114%) showed no obvious difference compared to that of the sensitive strain.ConclusionThe insecticide resistance in Blattella germanica(field strain) found in areas of Shengli oil field is high and relative activity of GSTs and AChE could be used in as indicators of insecticide resistance in Blattella germanica.
