Expressions of SENP proteins in glioma and its correlation to clinical histological subclassification

  • ObjectiveTo explore the change in expressions of small ubiquitin-related modifier-specific proteases(SENP) proteins in glioma and its correlation to clinical histological subclassification.MethodsWe selected 43 cases of glioma surgical resection as glioma group and 9 cases of normal brain tissue obtained from autopsy sources as control group. The change in expressions of SENP1,SENP2,and SENP6 proteins was detected with Western blot and the relationship between the expression of SENP proteins and histological subclassification of glioma was analyzed.ResultsThe expressions of SENP1(0.47±0.12),SENP2(0.78±0.17),and SENP6(0.94±0.21) proteins were significantly increased in glioma tissues compared to those of the control group(0.35±0.03,0.36±0.13,and 0.23±0.08),with statistically significant differences(all P<0.05) and the expression of SENP proteins was positively related to histological subclassification, with the correlation coefficients(r) of 0.82,0.83,and 0.91(all P<0.05).ConclusionThe expression of SENP proteins increases in glioma tissues and closely relates to the development of glioma.
