Impact of nursing intervention on treatment compliance and survival quality among AIDS patients

  • Objective To explore the impact of comprehensive nursing intervention on treatment compliance and survival quality among AIDS patients.Methods Totally 240 AIDS patients were randomly divided into an intervention group(n=120)and a control group(n=120).Both groups were given normal nursing management and the intervention group were given additional specific intervention measures.The baseline data and the data 10 months after the intervention were collected among all the patients and analyzed.Results The number of missed dose,taking medicine at late time,taking wrong drug,and incorrect drug dose were significantly decreased after the intervention among the patients of intervention group (all P<0.01).The domain scores of survival quality for physical condition,psychological status,independence,social relationship,environment,spiritual support,and overall quality of life were also significantly increased after the intervention among the patients of intervention group (all P<0.01).Conclusion The implementation of the nursing intervention can obviously improve medication compliance and survival quality among AIDS patients.
