Health risk assessment of persistent organic pollutants

With rapid development of industry and the disordered emission of chemicals,the pollution of persistent organic pollutants(POPs)is becoming a serious environmental problem.POPs threaten the health of human beings and ecological environment.This paper summarized hazard identification,dose-response relationship,exposure assessment,and risk characterization for POPs.Till now,it is difficult to systematically evaluate the health risk of POPs because of the lack of environmental monitoring and exposure parameters.More studies should be done for setting up new environmental control benchmark and risk assessment system.
