Diabetes mellitus,a kind of metabolic disorder disease caused by multiple factors,has seriously impacted on the quality of life of the sufferers.With rapid development of techniques in molecular biology,the knowledge about diabetes has been more thorough.Researchers pay more attentions to explore the associations between body fluid metabolic abnormalities and diabetes.Aquaporins(AQPs) which are known as glycerol transporters have been demonstrated to participate in a series of important metabolism processes including fat synthesis and decomposition.Exploring the effects of AQPs and its related genes on the occurrence of diabetes has great importance for the treatment and prevention of diabetes.
