Influencing factors of reinfarction among patients with acute myocardial infarction after PCI: a case-control study

  • Objective To explore the relevant factors of myocardial reinfarction among patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI) after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods A total of 264 AMI patients experienced PCI for the first time in Cardiology Department of First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University from January 2011 to December 2013 were recruited consecutively and followed-up for one year;then the patients were assigned into a case group(88 with myocardial reinfarction) and a control group(176 gender and PCI time-matched).Clinical data of the participants were extracted from their medical records and information on postoperative habits of daily life and medication were collected via telephone interviews.SPSS 16.0 statistical software was used in analyses. Results Significant differences between the cases and controls were observed in age, histories of smoking and alcohol drinking, systolic blood pressure(SBP), Killip grade of cardiac function, histories of hypertension and diabetes, levels of triglyceride(TG) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), postinfarction angina, severity of angiostenosis, and postoperative medication and physical exercise(all P<0.05).Conclusion SBP, Killip grade of cardiac function, hypertension history, postinfarction angina and postoperative medication may be independent factors for myocadial reinfarction in AMI patients after stent implantation.
