Progress in researches on human coronavirus HKU1:a review

Human coronavirus HKU1 (HCoV-HKU1)belongs to β-coronavirus,a somewhat mysterious member of human coronavirus family and a great progress has been made in the research on HKU1 in vitro cell culture and cell receptor in recent years.Related epidemiological reports indicate that the incidence of HKU1 infection is low.There is region-related seasonal variation for the prevalence of HKU1 infection.Major prevalence seasons for HKU1 infection are winter and spring seasons in China and the first HKU1 infection case was detected in Inner Mongolia.The paper summarizes the researches on epidemiology,infection mechanism,cell culture and detection technology of HKU1 briefly.
