Progress in researches on influencing factors for salt sensitivity of blood pressure

Salt sensitivity of blood pressure is defined as the different response to salt loading for each individual.Compared to salt-resistant individuals,salt-sensitive ones have higher risk of developing target organ damages and cardiovascular diseases.It is important to identify salt-sensitive persons early and to limit their salt intakes,in order to reduce risk of cardiovascular events.This review,from the epidemiological prospective,analyzed the potential influencing factors of salt sensitivity of blood pressure,identified high-risk groups,and provided evidences for preventing cardiovascular events.
