Objective To identify Brucella spp by 16 s-23 s rRNA Ribosoma-l Spacer-Region(ITS)and to estimate the significance of ITS as gene labelling in Brucella.
Methods Strain typing of 120 Brucella spp. in China by PCR-SSCP analysis and sequencing for ITS.
Results Four types(Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ)existed in all species which were examined. Sequence analysis of the ITS revealed a spacer of 765 bp with high(99.87%)homology and only 3 sites were different.
Conclusion ITS with high homology is of some importance to be marker in Brucella spp.
