Difference of gene expression spectrum in mouse neuron of hippocampus induced by electromagnetic irradiation

  •   Objective   To study the relationship of gene differential expression with the injury effect in mouse hippocampus induced by edectromagnetic irradiation.
      Methods   The gene expression spectrum of mouse hippocampus neuron were monitored by cDNA microarray in different time after electromagnetic irradiation exposure.The differentially expressed genes were analysed and found out.
      Results   At 0 h after electromagnetic irradiation, five genes upregulated in mouse hippocampus.Among 30 differentially expressed genes at 24 h after irradiation, there were 6 upregulated genes and 24 downregulated genes.These differentially expressed genes were related with stress response, intercellular signal transduction, cytoskeleton.
      Conclusion   Gene expressions of neuron in hippocampus were altered by electromagnetic irradiation.Many genes were involved in the injury of hippocampus induced by electromagnetic irradiation.The changes of these genes expression reflected the spectrum of neuron injury in hippocampus.
