Effects of homocysteine on SREBP-1 mRNA expressions in 7721 cells

    Abstract
  •   Objective   To determine the effects of homo cysteine on the expression of sterol regulatory element binding protein-1(SREBP-1)mR NA in 7721 cells.
      Methods   7721 cells were treated homocysteine (0.2, 1 and 5 mmol/L), and the expressions of SR EBP-1 mRNA were examined by RT-PCR at 2, 4, 8, 18 and 24 h.
      Results   Ho mocysteine increased the expressions of SREBP-1 mRNA in 7721 cells, and the expressions reached higher level at 18 h with 5 m mol/L of homocysteine.
      Conclusion   Homocysteine up-regulated the expressions of SREBP-1 mRNA in 7721 cells.
