Relationship between essential hypertension in Mongolian population and related factors

  •   Objective   To explore the relation of overweight or fat and blood lipids with essential hypertension(EH)in Mongolian population.
      Methods   Persons aged 30 and over 30 living in the field of inner Mongolian were served as the subjects.And blood pressures, body height, body weight, waist circumference and hip circumference were measured, and blood lipids levels in plasma were tested after the persons were informed the consent.Data banks were set up by Excel soft ware, and the data were analysed by SAS.
      Results   Body mass index(BMI)and ratio of waist to hip circumference(WHR)were significantly higher in hypertensives than those in normotensive(P < 0.05).The TC, TG, ApoAI, ApoB levels in plasma were significantly higher in hypertensives than those in normotensive(P < 0.05).Stratified by BMI, the TC, TG, ApoAI levels in plasma in the group of BMI < 24 were significantly higher in hypertensives than those in normotensive(P < 0.05).Stratified by WHR, the TC, TG, ApoAI and ApoB levels in plasma in the group of WHR < 0.9 were significantly higher in hypertensives than those in normotensive(P < 0.05).
      Conclusion   Over body weight or fat and high blood lipid have relation with EH in Mongolian population.
