Case control study on risk factors of type 2 diabetes in Kunming area

  Objective   To explore the risk factors of type 2 diabetes for proper interventions.

  Methods   A case control study including 131 type 2 diabetes cases and 131 controls in Kunming was carried out.Atotal number of 27 factors were analyzed using logistic regression analysis.

  Results   The overweight and obesity, insulin resistance, stress incident and addiction to sweetment etc were the major risk factors of type 2 diabetes.Meanwhile, the regular physical activities, vegetable oil and fresh greenstuff etc were the protective factors of type 2 diabetes.

  Conclusion   The reasonable diet, taking physical exercise, control of weight, maintenance of good psychological condition, changing illlivine habit etc, were the important measures to prevent type 2 diabetes.
