Effects of c9, t11-conjugated linoleic acid on expression of cyclooxygenase of human gastric adenocarcinoma cell

    Abstract
  •   Objective   To study the effects of c9, t1-conjugated linoleic acid(c9, t11-CLA)on the critical enzyme (COX)of linoleic acid metabolism path of human gastric adenocarcinoma cell line(SGC-7901).
      Methods   Ex pression of COX-1, COX-2 mRNA was measured by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)and COX-2 protein was measured by Western blot.
      Results   At the concentrations of 200, 100, 50, 25 μmol/L, c9, t11-CLA suppressed the expression of COX-2 mRNA and protein, but induced the expression of COX-1 mRNA.
      Conclusion   Anti-cancer action of c9, t11-CL Amight be associated with the expression of COX.
