Analysis on coverage of vaccination campaign and its socio-economic influential factors

  •   Objective   To study the socio-economic factors influencing adult vaccination coverage.
      Methods   A vaccination campaign of cluster randomized controlled trial targeting population aged 5-60 years was conducted in two towns, Hechi city, Guangxi to compare vaccinee's demographic and socio-economic characters and vaccination coverage.
      Results   92, 476 people of the total target population of 118 071 were vaccinated; Vaccination coverage reached 78.32%, typhoid Vi vaccine coverage reached 76.87% and meningococcal A vaccine coverage reached 79.69%.The urban and rural vaccination coverage was 77.29% and 80.58% respectively.By age group, the highest coverage of age group was 5-9 years old which reached 89.65% and the lowest coverage of age group was 20-29 years old at 69.07%;coverage between male and female was 79.07% and 82.11% respectively; the coverage of the household of high income was highest, which reached 90%;according to education level, poupulation aged 18-60 years, finished primary school reached the highest coverage with 78.34%;according to the occupation of the head of household, were students reached 92.01% and lowest cover age were Owner of business premise and the retired reached 69.71% and 68.82%;according to the years living in study area, the highest coverage group were 1-2 years living in study area which reached 84.47% and lowest coverage group were living in study area less than 1 year which reached 62.5%.
      Conclusion   Vaccination coverage was not affected by education level, household income, the residential time and location; the main factors influencing coverage were migration, elderly population.
