Evaluation on effects of HIV/AIDS education among mobile female factory workers

  •   Objective   To study the HIV/AIDS knowledge, attitudes, and practices(KABP)among mobile female factory workers, and explore the pilot HIV/AIDS education mode for factory women.
      Methods   A cluster sampling anonymous structured questionnaire survey was conducted before and after the intervention among floating female factory workers from 4 garment factories in Guangdong province, China.A series sythesis HIV/AIDS education measures were launched and the impact of prevention intervention was subsequently evaluated.
      Results   The survey revealed a significant lack of knowledge about HIV/AIDS among mobile female factory workers.Only 26% knew, all tbe three wavs of how HIV/AIDS was transmitted.3.65% used condom at last intercourse.Factory women were friable to HIV.After intervention, the proportion of mastering AIDS knowledge increased remarkably and the anitudes towards HIV positive person changed.12.56% used condom at last intercourse.
      Conclusion   The HIV/AIDS education for factory women was effective and should be generalized.
