Serological surveillance on antibody to avian influenza subtype H5, H9 virus in poultry breeding workers

  •   Objective   To detect the seroepidemiologic antibody to the subtypes of avian influenza A virus, H5 and H9 in poultry breeding workers, to understand the infection of avian influenza A virus.
Methods   For detecting antibody to these two subtypes with HI test, 277 serum specimens were collected from poultry breeding workers, and 270 were from normal Entry-Exit passengers in Zhuhai port.
Results   In poultry breeding workers, the positive rate to H9 was 2.17%, and 1 serum specimens had antibody to H5, The positive rate was 0.36%, while in normal Entry-Exit passengers, the positive rate to H9 was 2.196%, but none had antibody to H5.
Conclusion   H9 subtype influenza A virus had already infected human beings, the positive rate was nothigh. It was attention to H5 subtype in poultry breeding workers.
