Effect of alcohol on function of male reproductive system

  Objective   To study the functions damage of male reproductive system induced by drinking excessively.

  Methods   One control group was 45 people who drink excessively, the other control group was 9 people poisoned by alcohol, and case group was 20 people without drinking.To detect the quality of semen, T, E₂, LH and FSH in serum, LDH, LDH-x, G-6PD andβ-G in serum, sermen and spermatozoa.

  Results   Dinking 100-150 g of white spirit of 38 degree one day and above 20 times a month for over 10 years, the quantity of spermatozoa, the rate of activing spermatozoa, and the activity of LDH-x in sperimatozoa were lower than those of control group(P < 0.05).Drinking 150-250 g T in serum decreased, E₂, LH, FSH increased(P < 0.05 or P < 0.01), The activity of LDH, LDH-x, G-6PDβ, -G in serum of semen were lower than those of control group obviously, especially LDH-x.

  Conclusion   Drinking excessively influenced male spermatogenesis, teslis marker enzyme and gonadal hormone significally.
