Objective To approach the effect of γ-ray exposure on the concentrations of microelements in mouse serum.
Methods The mice are exposed to different doses of γ-ray and then concentrations of microelements in mouse serum are measured respectively at 24 hours and 1 week after being exposed.
Results There are significant differences of the concentrations of 10 microelements between the control group and the each of the exposed groups (P < 0.01). The concentrations of the Fe, Zn, Cd, Ni, Mn, Cr, Cu, Se, Pb of the control group are respectively significant differences from those of the exposed groups (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01), whereas the concentration of Co of the control group is not significant different from that of a exposed group (P > 0.05).
Conclusion γ-ray exposure has a significant effect on concentrations of microelements in mouse serum.
