Study on leukocyte antigen(HLA) type of patients with obstructive sleep apnea

  Objective   To investigate the possible genetical influence on subjects with obstructive sleep spnea syndrome (OSAS).

  Methods   Polymerase chain reaction-sequence specific primer(PCR-SSP)technique was used to analyse HLA-A, -B, -DR antigens of 35 patients living in northern mandarine and with OSAS diagnosed by whole-night PSG.

  Results   The frequency of HLAA2, -B15, -DRB1*02, -DRB1*07, -DRB1*12 antigens were markedly increased in patients with OSAS compared with those in general population in northern China.

  Conclusion   The specific HLA antigens might be relevant to the development of OSAS in patients living in northern mandarin China.
