Death analysis on cerebrovascular diseases of Chinese

  •   Objective   To learn about the features of death due to cerebrovascular diseases.
      Methods   Some comparisons were made based on death rates by cause, age, and sex among different sex, age, districts, countries, and years.
      Results   Cerebrovascular diseases ranked first and second in rural areas and urban areas respectively in 2001, accounting for about 20 percent of all deaths.The amjority of cerebrovascular diseases were contributed by cerebral hemorrhage, which accounted for 61 percent and 73 percent of all cerebrovascular diseases deaths in urban areas and rural areas respectively.Death rates of cerebrovascular diseases were higher for male than for female, and the death rates increased with age.
      Conclusion   Death rates of cerebrovascular diseases showed a downward trend since 1989 in urban areas, but went up in rural areas.
