Study on relationship between breeding poultry or livestock and infection of type A influenza viruses

  •   Objective   To learn the relationship between breeding poultry or livestock and the infection of type A influenza viruses.
Methods   The titers of antibody of type A influenza viruses were measured through the hemagglutination inhibition test(HAI)among a natural population with a convention of breeding poultry or livestock, and the impact of breeding poultry or livestock on the infection was analyzed with univariate analysis and multivariate analysis(Logistic regression model)method.
Results   Breeding poultry or livestock was a risk factor for the infection by influenza viruses, and a dose-response relationship was observed between the number of poultry or livestock bred and the level of antibody of type A influenza viruses.
Conclusion   People breeding poultry or livestock should be treated as a focus sample in the epidemiological surveillance of influenza.
