Effect of different diagnosis criterion of childrens hypertension on morbidity rate

  •   Objective   To know the status of children's blood pressure and distribution features, and tofind outan suitable diagnosis criterion of children's hypertension.
      Methods   5 762 children of 7~14 years were sampled by means of whole population random sampling.Blood pressure was measured and SPSS 10.0 of statistical software was used for data analysis.
      Results   Accor ding tofive differentcommon diagnosis criterions atpresent, the prev alence r ates of child hypertension were calculated respectively, and they were significantly different(χ2=1082.88, P < 0.01).When the criterion of the Han national student(No.1.)was served as the standard, there were sig nificantdifferences between the standar d No.1 and the others exceptthe criterion of American recommended in 1987(No.4.).
      Conclusion   The criterion of American recommended in 1987 was suitable for Chinese children.
