Changes of Iron,Calcium,Zinc,Copper and Manganese Contents in Liver of Rats with Acute Liver Injury

  • To study the change of iron, calcium, zinc, copper and manganese in liver of rats with acute liver injury, anmials were injected intraperitoneally with D-G alactosamine(D-G al N)800mg/kg plus lipopoly saccharide(LPS)0.1mg/kg to induce the ratmodel of acute liver injury. The contents of this five elements in liver were determinde by flame atomic absorption spectrophotom etry at 6,12,24,48 hours after inducing liver injury respectively. Results showed that the contents of iron and calium in liver increased gradually as the hepativ damage progressed, but zinc decreased. These changes accmpanied by the elevation of malondialdehyde(MDA)and the decrease of superoxide dismutase(SOD).Besides, the contents of iron showed significant correlation to the contents of MDA.Whereas the contents of copper and manganese had not shown obvious differences betweem groups. The results suggested that the iron overload, calcium overload and zinc decrease may play roles in acute liver injury.
