Molecular Epidemiological Study on the Serum Oncoprotein in Workers Exposed to Cml Tar Pitch(CTP)

In order to know the serum P21 oncoprotein levels in workers exposed to CTP who were recognized as the occupational pulmonary carcinoma risk population, the serum P21 levels in 24 workers exposed to CTP and in 12 normal cases were detected with the molecular analysis method of Western Blotting. The results showed that the mean P21 level (3558.7)of workers exposed to CTP was significantly higher than that of the normal controls (1270.70)(P<0.01). There were no P21 differences among different work-ages and between the workers with or wihtout smoking history.It indicated that CTP can cause the increase of P21 oncoprotein level.
