Abstract(861) HTML (136) PDF 377KB(29)
Abstract:
ObjectiveTo go deep into the mechanism of chronically aluminum-induced impairments to memory through observing the effects of chronic aluminum exposure on long-term potentiation(LTP)and studying the changes of Ca2+ concentration in hippocampus and protein kinase C.MethodsThe ablactated Wistar rats were used to establish the chronic-aluminium exposed models by the gavage of AlCl3 of different concentrations in the drinking water to determine the levels of Al in brain, blood and intracellular calcium individually, and to measure the LTP in hippocampi of the rats three months later, and then determine the activity of protein kinase C(PKC)with modified Takai method.Results(1)The calcium concentration of AlCl3 exposed groups was lower than that of control groups(P<0.01),but there was no distinctive difference between the AlCl3 exposed groups.(2)The PKC activity of AlCl3 exposed groups was obviously lower than that of control groups (P<0.01).ConclusionChronic aluminium exposure can decline the concentration of calcium in hippocampus and reduce the activity of PKC,thus affect the activity of its downstream kinases, damaging the formation of LTP and consequently impairing the ability of learning and memory.

Abstract(862) HTML (148) PDF 358KB(47)
Abstract:
ObjectiveTo find out the reproduction condition of German cockroach at different feeding density.MethodsTo set up five different densities and three different sex ratios.Repeat three times. To observe mating, fecundity, hatching, the weight of the first age larva and sex condition at different feeding density.ResultsThe fecundity was maximum at a low density(in the experiment German cockroach was 20 and 40).As the increase of density, the fecundity decrease, female had an important role in hatching athigh density. As the increase of density, the weight of the first age larva became decreasing-tendency and the offspring number of one female decreases, nevertheless, when the density increased to a certain degree, the offspring number had little difference. The relationship between weight and feeding density met the Logistic equation:W=K/1+ea+rρ(W:stands for weight of larva, ρ:feeding density K:environmental capacity). The sex ratio of offspring had little difference with the sex ratio and density of parent.ConclusionUnder the limited resource of foods and space,as the variety of density, the reproduction capacity of German cockroach has certain adjust capacity.Decreasing habitathas an important role in the control of German cockroach.

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo probe into the quality of life(QOL)among those patients with coronary heart disease(CHD).MethodsAccording to WHO QOL-100 measuring scale 167 cases of CHD and matched normal controls were checked up on their QOL.Throught test,χ2 test, and corr elation analysis to survey QOL.ResultsCHD cases had lower QOL than the normal controls in terms of physical, psy chological, independence, social relation, environmental domain, and WHO QOL-100 total mark.According to the total mark of social support and subjective support,CHD cases had lower points, and the total mark of social support and subjective supporthad positive correlation connection with quality of life.Economic level and social support were the influeving factor.ConclusionSocial support and subjective support should be given to patients actively so as to raise their quality of life.

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo study the role of hypothalamus-pituitary-gond axis played on the mechanism of male toxicity of di-n-butyl phthalate(DBP).MethodsThe testosterone concentration and relative expression levels of MIS,ABP and inhibin in different developmental stage of rats'testes were measured by methods of ELISA and RT-PCR.ResultsThere was no significant difference in MIS expression and testosterone levels in DBP-treated groups while comparing with the control group.However,1 000 mg/kg DBP can significantly decrease the ABP and inhibin expression levels of rats'testes in a time-dependent manner.ConclusionDBP could decrease the expression of testosterone binding ABP and inhibin, but not MIS and testosterone, suggesting that antiadrogenic activity by disturbing the function of hypothalamus-pituitary-gonad axis might be one of the reasons of male reproductive and developmental toxicity induced by DBP.

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo explore the time-response relationship between central neural excitatory amino acids(EAAs) and PFOS.MethodsWister rats were randomly divided into l control group and 4 duration[2,4,8,24 h after 25mg/(kg·bw)exposure]groups.Wister rats were exposed once orally. The controls were treated with 2% tween-80.The contents of glutamate(Glu),aspartate(Asp),glycine(Gly)and gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA)in brain tissues were determined by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).ResultsGlu content at 2,4,8 h were(0.89±0.162),(0.75±0.276), (0.84±0.542)μmol/(g·protein),and there was significant difference compared with corresponding control group(1.30±0.063)μmol/(g·protein)(P<0.05);Asp did not show evident changes;Gly content at 8,24h were(1.24±0.352), (1.09±0.215)μmol/(g·protein),and there was significant difference compared with corresponding control group(1.54±0.120)μmol/(g·protein)(P<0.05).GABA content at 24h were(1.68±0.188)μmol/(g·protein),and there was significant difference compared with corresponding control group(2.03±0.370)μmol/(g·protein)(P<0.05).ConclusionEAAs appears to be related with the development of inhibited activity and then excitatory symptom by the low dose of PFOS exposed.
