Abstract: The establishment of a mechanism and a system for sharing information on individuals positive to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is one of important measures to identify HIV-positive blood donors for blocking inter-regional HIV transmission via blood transfusion. We preliminarily constructed a regional information sharing system for the identification of HIV-positive blood donors in Eastern China. The mode of information sharing, information security architecture, and primary application of the system were discussed to provide a reference for inter-province sharing of information on blood safety.
