Abstract:
Information management departments within Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) agencies played a crucial role in the control of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, and their importance has become increasingly prominent. However, these departments still face challenges due to insufficient development and have considerable room for growth. This article provides an overview of the current status, functions, and responsibilities of information management departments within Chinese CDC agencies, and examines the work of similar departments in other countries. It also analyzes the developmental changes in information management departments of CDC agencies both domestically and internationally following the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, by integrating the development of information management departments in CDC agencies worldwide, this article explores potential future directions for the development of information management departments within Chinese CDC agencies.
