Abstract:
Objective To examine the prevalence dyslipidemia among residents≥18 years old in Changshu city and to provide the basis for intervention on the disorder.
Methods With multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method,1 568 residents above 18 years old from 720 households in 4 tow ns and 8 villages were selected.Medical examination,dietary survey, and biochemical detection were conducted among the residents.
Results The prevalence rate of dyslipidemia in the residents was 37.2%.Multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that at the age of 30 to 44 years,with body mass index≥24, hypertension,and abdominal obesity were the risk factors for dyslipidemia and female,the propertion of fat as energy of <30%,oil intake of<30 g/d,and dietary fiber intake≥15 g/d were the protective factors of dyslipidemia.
Conclusion The prevalence rate of dyslipidemia in adult residents of Changshu city is high and weight control,low intake of fat,and high dietary fiber are important means to the prevention of dyslipidemia.
