    Abstract:
Objective  To examine the customer behavior of mobile application (APP) for health management and its influencing factors among hypertension patients and to provide evidences for promoting the development of internet+ hypertension health management model.
Methods  With simple random sampling, we recruited 314 hypertension patients via internet for an online anonymous questionnaire survey on demographics, disease condition, medication seeking, and the usage of APP for health management from November 2018 to April 2019. One-way analysis of variance and logistic regression were adopted to explore influencing factors of APP usage in health management.
Results  Totally 296 valid questionnaires were collected and the response rate was 94.3%. Of the respondents, 68.24% reported the usage of hypertension management APP mainly under the recommendation from doctors. The influencing factors were gender and duration of the disease for the usage of APP, the grade of selected medical institutions providing routine medication for the choice of APP type, and gender, age and whether having to visit a doctor regularly for selection of functional modules of the APP being used.
Conclusion  The usage of mobile APP for health management is prevalent and mainly influenced by personal factors but the selection of type and function of the APP are affected by the characteristics of medical institutions selected for routine medication among hypertension patients.
