Abstract:

Methods Baseline and second investigations were carried out for 1 139 elderly people aged 60 years and above, and then logistic regression was used to analyze the impact of age, gender, education, marital status, physical exercise and chronic diseases on ADL dependency.
Results The prevalence rate of functional dependency in ADL is 8.1%.With the increasing of age,the probability of ADL dependency increases.Elder people without a spouse, living alone, rarely doing exercise and with low education level are more likely to become ADL dependency.Chronic diseases are major reasons for ADL dependency.Cancer, whose prevalence rate is nothigh,is a very important factor affecting the decline of function in elder people, instead of hypertension, whose prevalence rate is the highest.
Conclusion To strengthen the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases,to advocate proper physical exercise,to pay attention to the marriage and quality of family life of elderly people;to promote the level of knowledge, disease prevention and self-protecting consciousness of elderly people, can improve the quality of life of elderly life.
