Abstract:
Objective To determine the effects of orininal and purified oiliness extracts from rose family plant fruit core against pathogenic fungi and bacteria in vitro.
Methods When using amphotericin B, amox icillin and gentamcin as the control drugs, doubling agar dilution method and test tube method were applied to detect the MIC and MBC of the original and purified oiliness extracts against the isolates of Candida spp, Trichop hyton spp, S.aureus and E.coli, respectively.
Results MIC90 values of the original and purified oiliness extracts were 1.25% and 2.5% (V/V)against 79 strains of Candida spp, and were 0.62~1.25% and 1.25~2.5% (V/V)against 38 strains of Trichop hyton spp, respectively.MIC90 values of the original and purified oiliness extracts were 0.31% and 0.62% against both the 38 strains of S.aureus and 20 strains of E.coli, respectively.C.albicans strain 7374 and T.rubrum strain 6 180 were killed after treated with 0.31% of the original oiliness extract for 15 min and 0.62% of the purified oiliness extract for 30 min.S.aureus strain ATCC25 923 and E.coli ATCC25 922 were killed after treated with 0.16% of the original oiliness extract for 5 min and 0.31% of the purified oiliness extract for 15 min.
Conclusion Relatively low concentrations of the original and purified oiliness extracts from rose family plant fruit core show remarkable activities to inhibit and kill the common pathogenic fungi and bacteria causing skin and mucosa infection. The oiliness extracts have a fine potential to develop a high effective medicinal disinfectant forex ternal use.
