Abstract: Objective To survey prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases(STDs)and factors related to STDs among female sex workers(FSWs)working in entertainment businesses.Methods To provide outreach and clinic STD serviees for FSWs regularly.Self-administrated anonymous surveys and half-format surveys were carried out.Data were analyzed with SPSS10.0.Results 258 questionnaires were collected from FSWs.Their average age was 22.13(15～45).The average age having the first sex was 17.76(15～22).53.07% of them had sex intercourse with their clients during their menstruation.75.19% suffered STDs and 63.57% suffered STDs the Last year.Multivariate unconditional Logistic regression analysis found the time-space for sex work and sex intercourse during their menstruation were main factors affecting STDs prevalance.The relative risks were 3.51 and 2,47,95% confidence intervals(CI)were 1.61～7.60 and 1.00～6.09 respectively.Conclusion Prevalence of different STDs among the FSWs in Qingdao is high and there are high risk behaviours related to STDs/HIV/AIDS.It is necessary to early out effective strategies for control STDs/HIV/AIDS of FSWs in STD services.
