Abstract: Objective To explore health status and behavioral problem of orphans with parents died of AIDS or drug abuse in Yunan province for effective intervention.Methods With Aehenbachps Child Behavior Cheeklist(CBCL)and Self-rated Health Measurement Scale(SRHMS),60 ophans at age of 9-14 years and with parents died of AIDS or drug abuse were surveyed.Results The incidence of behavioral problems of the orphans was 53.3%(male:55.26%,female: 50%).There was a significant difference in the incidence between different genders(χ²=0.155,P=0.694).The physical health of the orphans(111.55±21.24)was better than their psychology health(97.22±19.47)and social health(86.33±15.03).The heath condition of the orphans with behavioral problems was worse than that of other orphans.The behavioral problem scores had a good predic table to the scores of SRHMS except social support.Conclusion The behavioral problems of orphans with parents died of AIDS or drug abuse is serious and mimediate psychological interference is needed.
