Abstract: Objective To investigate the antibiotic resistance of Helicobacter pylori(Hp)to metronidazole,amoxicillin,clarithromycin among gastric ulcer and gastritis patients in west Guangxi.Methods Gastric mucosa biopsy specmiens were taken from the patients diagnosed from 2006 through 2008.Three hundred seventy-four strains were diagnosed.The resistance to metronidazole,amoxicillin and clarithromycin of the strains were determined with K-B diffusion test.Results The resistance rates were 68.6%,10.2%,15.3% for metronidazole,amoxicillin,clarithromycin in 2006 and the resistance rates were 91.7%,21.2%,28.8% in 2008.There was no significant difference in resistance rates between samples from Baise,Tianyang,Tianlin,Lingyun.Some of strains were multidrug resistant.The multidrug resistance rate was 3.74% for metronidazole,amoxicillin and clarithromycin.Conclusion The Hp resistance rates to metronidazole,amoxicillin,clarithromycin were observed among gastric disease patients in west Guangxi.There is a need to replace the seantibiotics with otherantibiotics.
