Abstract: ObjectiveTo understand the status of coerced first sexual intercourse and its influence factors among female college students in Wuhan,China.MethodsAn anonymous questio nnaire investigation was conducted among 5076 female college students selected with randomized cluster sampling in Wuhan.SPSS13.0 software was employed for statistical analysis.ResultsAmong 4769 respondents,18.10% had sexual behavior(sexual intercourse).19.81% of the students who had sexual behavior experienced the first sex under emotional pressure and 4.29% were coerced at first sexual inter-course by violence.Among the students whose first coitusage was less than 18 years old,24.72% had the first sexual experience due to emotional pressure which was higher than that of students at more than 18 years old when they had the first sexual intercourse(18.43%,V2=4.402,P=0.036).The studets who major in arts or medicine(OR=2.381, OR=1.633),whose father being farmers,technology professionals or teachers(OR=2.577,OR=2.087),feeling puzzle or depression in colleges(OR=1.565,OR=1.516)or objecting premarital sexual intercourse(OR=1.886)were more likely to be coerced at first sex under emotional pressure.Those students who had religion belief(OR=0.628)or whose parents held neutral attitude towards love and sex(OR=0.629)were less possibly to be coerced at first sexual intercourse.ConclusionSome female college students have experienced the coercion at first sexual intercourse which is associated with many factors.
