Abstract:
Objective To study the quality of life(QOL)and its related physical and psychological factors among patients with human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(HIV/AIDS)and to provide information for improving QOL in the patients.
Methods Functional Social Support Questionnaire,Psychological Capital Questionnaire and Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey(SF-36)were used to investigate 424 patients with HIV/AIDS.
Results Among the patients,QOL was affected by gender,age,marital status,and the relation with familial members and two dimensions of psychological capital(self-efficacy and hope)had complete mediation effect on the relationship between social support and QOL.
Conclusion Attention should be paid to QOL among patients with HIV/AIDS for making specific intervention measures to improve the QOL of the patients.
