Abstract: Objective To investigate the prevalence and influencing factors of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) among elderly people in communities of Wuhan city and to provide references for making relevant intervention measures.Methods From July to August 2014,totally 1 218 residents aged 65 years or more and living in Wuhan city 6 months or more were selected from six communities in Wuhan municipality with cluster random sampling and surveyed face-to-face with a questionnaire.Results Among all the elderly surveyed,340 were identified with MCI,with a prevalence rate of 27.91%.Multivariate unconditional logistic regression analyses showed that aged more than 70 years and with high school education were risk factors of MCI;while having physical exercise was a protective factor of MCI among the community elderly.Conclusion This study confirms a high MCI prevalence among the community residents aged over 65 years in Wuhan city and age,education level,and physical exercise are major influencing factors of MCI prevalence among the elderly.
